Fees and Funding

Fee Structure

We believe that the most important investment in a child’s education is the teacher and consequently the most crucial ‘infrastructure’ of the school. For a teacher to be able to be completely present and fully spend herself in the classroom with a lightness of spirit he needs to be free of the pressures of livelihood. The school believes in paying its most valuable assets a comfortable salary and therefore the fee is not a compromised figure. However, we would not like to limit admission to children from families who are comfortable with the fees alone.

This kind of education is of deep importance to us as sensitive educators and we see in it a larger possibility of enriching students across the economic spectrum. Therefore, for somebody who deeply appreciates this approach, the fees must not be a hindrance. We encourage such parents to approach us and we will mutually discuss the possibility of a way forward with Swadhaa.

As a corollary, those who find the school inexpensive and strongly believe in its vision must consider contributing over and above the basic fee structure as it would go a long way in supporting this honest endeavor of meaningful learning for the whole community. The additional income will also help us embrace families valuing this kind of learning environment; for whom the school would otherwise not be a potential option.

As a part of the Swadhaa learning community, we urge parents to view fees as a contribution to sustain the school, so families pay as much as is possible without causing any financial strain.

Fees will be discussed with each family during the admission process.

Funding

Fees-and-funding-(1)The work towards creating a progressive, holistic learning space generates a sublime impact in the measure in which it is pure but does not produce marketable goods generating income. A small school like us has to rely on the support of well-wishers to raise funds for infrastructure and facilities.Apart from contributions from families with children at Swadhaa we need the support of those of you who share our vision.

Whether it is in the form of “time” or “money”,your support is invaluable in assisting this vision to blossom to its full potential.

Time

If you are someone with a passion for education of children and redefining the conventions of teaching and learning and if you have a talent/skill that you wish to share with children, we are sure you can create the time and at Swadhaa, we value that time as a precious contribution towards the expansion of our learning environment.

You could be a passionate storyteller, a stand-up comedian, an ardent sportsperson, an avid dancer, a bird watching enthusiast, a creative homemaker, a needle wonder, a poet at heart, a cooking aficionado, a science buff, a naturalist, a hands-on experimenter, a puppeteer, an animation addict, an amateur instrumentalist or vocalist, a ‘wood-pecker’ (carpenter), an administrative wiz, a green goblin (gardener), a cleaning enthusiast………………..We encourage you to get in touch with us.

You need to be driven to share your passion by reaching out to a child’s heart and inspire love in the child for the process of learning.

You will find an atmosphere open to learning and growing and in the process enjoying and celebrating with all the efforts gravitating towards the commitment of making learning a joyful journey for the learner and the facilitator.

Monetary Contributions

The school is registered as a non-profit charitable trust and is seeking tax-exempt status for donations. All involved in the learning community can take that extra step of raising funds by contacting friends and well-wishers who wish to make a difference by contributing to the blossoming of a school with its honest intent of creating an uncompromising learning space.
